To be strong in your faith is to know who Jesus is to you. Jesus poses to us the same question that He asked Peter in Matthew 16:15, “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” (NIV) If your personal revelation of Christ is not that He is God’s son, then you will have a tougher time walking by faith.
Instead, what you will do is constantly second guess your faith, second guess God and second guess yourself. James mentioned it by stating “a double-minded man is unstable in all his ways” (James 1:8 KJV). What it means is that your loyalty will be divided between God and the world and we all know it is impossible to serve two masters. (Matthew 6:24)
Read about Peter’s account of who Jesus is in Matthew 16:13-20. How did Peter come to know who Jesus is? Do you know him in the same way? Who is He to you? God has many names recorded in the Bible. Which of them do you identify with? Which of them do you desire Him to be to you? Don’t be afraid to let Him know.
